The Coventry Telegraph's front page today was the location of the proposed new mega-incinerator ... right over land that has been, and could be used, for allotments. At a time when councils are considering mining landfill to find profitable material, we're thinking of locking ourselves into a 30-year contract to burn our refuse. At a time when peak oil is threatening global food supply chains, we should be growing more food in urban settings.
